Open Ocean continuously wishes to expand its connections throughout the world with partners companies to promote the Metocean Analytics online solution and build fruitful technological collaborations.
In January 2018, the Indian government had announced its plan to auction 1000 MW of offshore wind power for this region with the plan to set up a total 5 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2022. The auction process has been official launched in April with a deadline on May 25th 2018. This concrete step forward will surely help India to reach its clean energy goals.
The Baltic Sea region attracts a lot of interest with many offshore wind projects already being developed and still a lot of potential available. The surrounding countries including Germany, Poland, Finland and Estonia are pushing for these offshore development but are at different stages in terms of supply chain capability.
As part of a special issue dedicated to the relation between Sea & Space, Open Ocean has written an article for Marine & Océans magazine about its R&D project SIMPLE which links the offshore and space fields.
